Therapy for Federal Employees & Government Professionals

A C-suite executive in a blazer crosses her arms and looks into the distance. She is in need of support but concerned about privacy.

As military therapists, we have a special interest in supporting former military professionals, federal employees, government professionals, CEOs and C-suite executives, federal law enforcement, and individuals with high level security clearance.

Please know that your privacy is our number one priority. We offer secure, HIPAA compliant online therapy in 38+ states in the US, as well as in-person therapy in Alexandria, VA.

As a federal employee, government contractor, or high level executive, workplace demands and mental health challenges come with the job.

You May Be Experiencing

  • High Stress Environments

Government roles can involve high-pressure, high-risk decision making.

Working in crisis situations day in and day out can set the stage for complex mental health issues, such as chronic stress, anxiety and burnout.

  • Work-Life Balance Challenges

When you have a highly demanding career, long hours, job-related travel, and/or an unpredictable work schedule, it takes a toll on you and your relationships.

  • Trauma

You may have directly experienced traumatic events or been exposed to traumatic content second-hand as part of your job.

If details of what you experienced are haunting you, we can help you with evidence-based approaches to reducing traumatic distress.

  • Isolation

If you work remotely or are always traveling for work, it can contribute to feelings of isolation—especially if you’re far away from family and friends.

It can also be hard to integrate into local communities when you’re always moving, or only there for a short time.

  • Security Concerns

Threats to your personal safety, or those of your loved ones, can lead to heightened anxiety—the feeling that you’re always looking over your shoulder and can’t let your guard down.

Our therapists can help you learn to deal with the stress of security threats and risks, so that it doesn’t take a toll on your mind and body.

  • Frequent Relocations

When you’re moving every few years, it disrupts your routine and sense of stability—for you and your family. It can be hard to maintain relationships, friendships and connections.

This can leave you feeling rootless, disconnected, and alone.

No matter what you’ve seen or experienced, we’re here to support you through it.

We understand that you may be reluctant to see a therapist out of fear of losing your high security clearance.

Know that all personal information that you share within the therapy session remains strictly confidential, in accordance with professional ethical standards and legal requirements. Your attendance in therapy is kept private.

A federal law enforcement worker is looking out the window, in need of a law enforcement therapist, but concerned about confidentiality and privacy.

confidentiality

We understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality for the sake of your career.

Your privacy is our number one priority.

There are very few circumstances in which we would disclose anything about what you have done in your past. Those instances are in accordance with professional ethical standards and legal requirements, and detailed in our FAQ section.

Your information can only be shared with your signed release form. In the event that you need us to respond to a security clearance matter, we would handle it in a discreet manner.

FAQs

  • Actively seeking professional care for mental health issues does NOT affect your security clearance nor does it jeopardize your eligibility for a security clearance.

  • The military and government is primarily concerned with your ability to perform your duties safely and effectively. If your therapy and any related conditions do not impact your performance, there should be minimal concern.

The military has now become much more accepting of Tricare utilizing its out of network benefits, and making sure families can provide stability for themselves and their families and partnerships.
